Researchers affiliated with the Indiana University School of Medicine are seeking participants for a study of impact of genetics on fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). The Dissecting the Genetic Contributions to FASD study, or DiG FASD, is actively recruiting English-speaking individuals of all ages who were exposed to alcohol before birth or who have an FASD diagnosis.
Each person with FASD has a unique experience. By understanding the role genes play in shaping that experience, DiG FASD researchers hope to help improve FASD supports, treatments, and interventions.
Participants will submit a photo of themselves and provide a saliva sample. They will then complete an online cognitive assessment. There will be no in-person visits; every part of the study can be completed from home.
Participants may also receive compensation for their efforts: $10 for their photos, $30 for their saliva sample, $10 for completing the study forms, and $10 for completing the BRAIN-online cognitive assessment, totaling $60.
