Next week, the National FASD Collaborative Project is hosting two free webinars this month on FASD. The Project is a new FASD care and advocacy organization working in the United States.
The first September webinar, “FASD in a Nutshell,” will cover the basics of FASD: what causes it, the symptoms, and what systems of care are affected by it. Participants will finish the meeting able to define FASD, identify various disorders on the spectrum, and recognize symptoms. It will be held Monday, September 20, 2021, from 11:00a.m.–12:00p.m. Central Time.
The second is “Educational Care for Children Affected by Prenatal Alcohol Exposure.” This webinar deals with the neurodevelopment effects of Prenatal Alcohol Exposure (PAE) as well as the environmental factors that can impact a child’s ability to do well in school. It will also cover ways that different types of observational and diagnostic information can be used to craft effective interventions to support children’s learning. It will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 6:00p.m.–7:00p.m. Central Time.
The Project will also record and post over thirty other webinars on a wide variety of issues affecting people with FASD over the course of this academic year (September 2021–August 2022). Like those described above, they will be free and available on demand. Additionally, Those interested in certifying their knowledge can obtain non-degree-seeking graduate credit for webinars attended.
